Black Bear Bio
Black Bear Bio is an oil collection and recycling service based in central Vermont. The materials we collect are repurposed into biodegradable energy sources that are used for heating, transportation, and electricity throughout the state of Vermont and New England. Black Bear Bio exists to have an impact; to provide an opportunity for businesses and individuals to make decisions that contribute to a sustainable future for generations to come.
Beginning as a personal choice in 2003, the vision for Black Bear Bio was conceived by two individuals determined to reduce emissions, fuel costs on local and cross-country travel, and dependency on petroleum.
With the constant and ever-changing domestic energy demands, it was viable to scale up and make a regional impact. Since being founded in 2013, Black Bear has grown steadily to displace millions of gallons of petroleum with locally-sourced, sustainable alternatives.
Today, Black Bear’s team travels the state in high-powered vacuum tanker trucks collecting oil from businesses and establishments and recycling it into fuel. Black Bear Bio, in partnership with our clients, facilitate a chain of positive events that benefit the community, the economy, and reduce harm to the environment.
Built on efficiency, Black Bear Bio is a zero-waste operation. 100% of locally-sourced materials collected by Black Bear are repurposed into regenerative energy and fuel sources.
